Aquariums

Home to the largest outdoor completely free-standing aquariums in Los Angeles, Malibu Lumber Yard is very proud of its breathtaking sea life display.

Our three free-standing aquatic sanctuaries hold a total of 3,200 gallons of water, uniquely designed and meticulously maintained to increase public awareness of the amazing marine life found in our coastal waters.

Meander along the deck, where you will discover and delight in each unique tank and the wonders contained within.

The first, the Kona tank, is filled with large and small polyp stony coral, sea fans and sponges. The fish in this South Sea tropical environment include a variety of Tangs, Triggers, Wrasses and other tropical species.

The Point Dume is the largest of the three tanks, standing over 15 feet tall and holding 1600 gallons of 65 degree local California saltwater. This tank is home to many California marine state fish, including the brilliant orange Garibaldi species.

The third tank, the Surf Rider, includes unique species found off the Southern California coast, including the Giant Kelpfish, Calico Bass, Tree Fish, Flag Rockfish, Blacksmiths, Senoritas, and California Spiny Lobster.
